“Does a human mother form the baby through her own will? Does she knit its cells into being with the plans of her mind?”

Messages from Pele about Power and Creation on the Mother’s Day Enlightenment Full Moon

I had the honor of bearing witness to episode 21 of Pele’s eruption that began on December 23, my mama’s birthday. Mom left her body 3 years ago at this time of year, and here it was Mother’s Day and Pele was birthing again. All of this on a full moon in Scorpio (the astrological sign that highlights shadows) in celebration of Buddha’s enlightenment. Energy, much? WOW.

The days around this latest full moon were about the edgiest I’ve felt in a while, with tension in both the collective hive-mind and individual psyches. The noosphere was like a pressure cooker that (if you could bear it) invited you into passes through karmic cleansing and a deep dying of old selves. Intense. Bristly. Dramatic.  And.. BEAUTIFUL.

Mothers birth offspring, Pele births earth, and both events bring the end of whatever was before it. Every first-time mother discovers her life is never going back to what it was before that little person arrived. And in Pele’s case, her creation often brings destruction.

Enlightenment too is a kind of death where the small self finally gives way, bringing an end to suffering. The Wesak full moon celebrates the occasion of Buddha’s enlightenment, marking the conclusion of his death/rebirth cycle of reincarnation.

I didn’t realize when Pele called me to her birthing chamber this past Sunday that I was in for a schooling on life and death, particularly the small-self passages, those  incremental illuminations of successive ego-deaths. She quickly let me know.

It began on the way to the volcano, where Pele told me she wished to channel a message through, to “breathe the fire of creation through me.” I thought perhaps something special and elevated might come through me to share with others (oh sweet little human mind).  In fact what she tasked me to was to deliver a challenging word.  There’s a reason prophets were often stoned (and I don’t mean with ganja).

“I wish you to carry my fire creation. I wish you to show humans that they cannot stand in front of the power of creation. Everything is much larger than they are. Everything is vastly more powerful or destructive or magnificent or enormous.

“Humans have such an inflated and mistaken idea of their own power. Truly, this is at the root of so much evil – the mistaking of power. To be truly powerful is to be laid bare and to become as ash so that the pure force of God, spirit, creation and light can come through you.”

(She continues, making me feel like Job before God’s thundering reprimand, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the Earth!?!?” Honestly, it’s like she was yelling).

“You are nothing. You are a spec. You are a mite! Your form is the tiniest manifestation of life. Can you get this?! Can you get how finite and small you are? Only in your full knowing of this do you become ready to bear light. To carry power. Everything that you think you are must turn to ash, into nothing. You must be laid bare, made clean and pure in the fire.”

I feel the truth of this through all of me. I respond:

“Thank you, Pele. I see that it is also an equally egocentric self that makes itself insignificant. That thinks it can do nothing.”

“YES!!!” (she  practically screams in my ear). “The ego itself is at the root of all misunderstanding of power. The ego itself either thinks it is the whole thing or nothing. It thinks it is above or below. It is so confused all of the time!

“Please know that the ego itself is but a container, but a shell, but a scaffolding through which the fire of creation can move. And yet all of the attention goes to the self self self! It goes to what you are or what you are not. What you can do and what you cannot do. None of this matters! This is what must burn away. It is not about that small self.

“The fire of creation on this Mother’s Day, where God creates through me the newest land on the planet, is here to show you the truth of power.”

I was appropriately rattled after this transmission came through. I actually wondered if she might give an unexpected upheaval through this eruption, blasting away the entire caldera floor. But that was not her plan. Creation was her purpose, along with a massive tandem swing through the full moon/mother’s day/enlightenment energies.

She continued.

“Does a human mother form the baby through her own will? Does she knit its cells into being with the plans of her mind? Does she build its blood, it’s bones, it’s brain from her own machinations of thought or idea? No. Her body builds the baby through the pure life force creation of God. Without this life force, there would be no baby. No human could create another human in its truest form simply with its own intellect or skill. Life makes life. You are the bearer of life. You are the graced, highly blessed vehicles of life.”

“Pele… Pele, you are so fierce today. I feel shaky from your words. I am blown away, cautious and timid in the wake of your fiery word storm.”

“Then you are pono (in right relationship). I am Pele, and I create through fire.”

“Madame Pele, today I hope to stand on the precipice of your power and witness. Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo.”

And so I did.

As I read all that she shared, none of it is “new” to me, nor likely to you, either. We’ve known these things for a long time. But to get it so deeply by being burned up in the fire of her message… to then stand in awe before her massive flame and force…I bow in gratitude.

All Love,

Christine
