Welcome to what we affectionately call “Luxury Lava.” We named this patch thusly on an island play day. This exceptional lava is noteworthy for its smooth surface and elegant appearance. This rock-hard bed is perfect for lying around and pretending to be luxurious (thus the video on fb where I can’t take myself seriously – you can find that HERE).
Truth be told, I had been working pretty hard to get my post-menopausal body back in shape, and at this point I was feeling kinda proud. Never mind that a few of weeks later I was not feeling so spiffy again as I realized I have to KEEP eating about 30-50% less food per day and work out way more, like, FOREVER, just to counteract the slowed metabolism, ongoing declining muscle mass, and ever-earthward rush of every ounce of flesh on my body. All just to maintain what used to be an easy optimal fitness level. It’s crazy. I mean, who made THAT rule? And will it ever end?
Ahhhh there it is again. “When will this ever end?” Whether it’s fitness, laundry, or inner transformation, it turns out there is indeed always more. And this is actually as it should be. Because it’s a divine dimensional law that what is real cannot change, and everything else is in a constant state of doing so.
This is the land of illusion, where everything is either growing or decaying, becoming dirty or clean, getting in shape or falling into disrepair. Here in the maya there is no stasis, only ongoing trans-form-ation. I know you know.
And change means tending. We don’t ever have to go looking for what is changing, do we? It always shows itself, whether it is weeds in the garden (who ever goes digging to find them before they’re visible, for crying out loud!?), our flabby muscles, or that next piece of personal/soul growth. Whatever needs tending will get our attention, just as whatever is next in line to be actualized will arise.
In the midst of all of this change is our true nature. It’s the stuff God is made of, that which never ends: Love. Spirit. Life itself. These things in us are “fully real,” and they are our inner emancipated velveteen rabbits! They never need tending or changing. They just ARE. You are all of this, always.
But back here on planet disintegration, we likely get tired of constantly having to do crunches, pushups and cardio. Actually, maybe you don’t get tired of it. Maybe you thrive on it! I learned my pedicurist absolutely LOVES cleaning the minutia out of people’s toes. That floored me. She said she was probably a monkey in some other life, constantly preening her peers, picking specks out of fur. Talk about being in the right profession, lol!
But for the rest of us, it’s more like, “Why can’t that benefit just LAST? Why is there the next tough patch, the cracked polish, the eternal valley after the mountaintop?
Oh poor me, I must be alive in a body! I must be part of the ongoing wave that oscillates both up and down, the breath that inhales and exhales, the WHOLE and not just the part! I must have the great honor of being incarnate and getting to experience the illusion of birth and death, of separation, the ups and downs, all affording me the intense experience of creation in 3 and 4D.
Lucky me!
All humor aside, sometimes we do tire of the journey (ESPECIALLY if we boarded our rocket ship thinking it was actually going to ARRIVE somewhere instead of constantly shapeshift). This is why we truly do get by with a little help from our friends (like the end of the video…“Where would I be without you guys?”).
Because no, it never ends 😂(though we do cease thinking there is something wrong with us, and it does get WAY easier and much more fun). Once this mystery play is over, once we’ve completed our pause in this tiny parenthesis in eternity, we continue on in the uninterrupted, unending unfolding of life, the miracle that always is and always becomes more of itself.
What is truly real is eternal and cannot fade, degrade, disintegrate or decay. It cannot have anything “wrong” with it or die – the greatest illusion of all. Nor can you.
And of course we DO die (i.e. change form yet again). That’s what’s so amazing about here – the bothness of it all! It’s astounding that the eternal temporarily appears finite. I think we are all bad-asses for giving it a go.
Want to expand your both-ness of already being it while discovering how to experience it, all while finding more lightness and joy along the way? I’d be honored to be your guide. Check out the individual and group offerings listed at ChristineLaria.com
